SSL error when using the app but connecting fine via Safari #3287
Comments
Are you sure your SSL is correctly configured? Because in safari it allows to ignore the issues and continue but in the App it has to be correctly configured. |
How do I check is the SSL is correctly configured? I've tried using the actual ip address and it works in the app; it just doesn't work with duckdns (but works in Safari) |
Record you screen while doing this:
Send me the video |
I've recorded the video, but I don't see how to send it to you, is there any kind of private messaging on github? |
Sorry for the late reply, I was on vacations. |
What does that mean? I don’t know what SSL means and where I need to configure it |
When you try to access home assistant over “HTTPS” you need to have properly configured SSL, you can find many tutorials available explaining that. |
iOS device model, version and app version
Model Name: iPhone 12 Pro
Software Version: 18.2
App version: 2024.12.2
Home Assistant Core Version
2024.12.5
Describe the bug
When I try and connect to home assistant via the app I get an ‘SSL error’
The address I use is a duck dns address.
When I type this in the browser I can connect without problem, so why does it not work in the app?
To Reproduce
Try and connect to home assistant using duckdns url
Expected behavior
Successful connection
