Tryruby appears to have been down, under maintenance for a couple days now. Any idea when it will be back up?

it's down for some time. alternatively, use "rails console" on your command line and play around

Is there any way to run the tutorials from tryruby.org in a terminal/command line?

**Nevermind, tryruby still allows "next" to move to the next page of instructions. So for now the tutorial can be done that way.

***Ok, so not all of the tutorial is possible without having the files hosted here on the git. Example: print poem. Is there a way for me to run these tutorials from a command line?

It's awesome that I want to introduce someone to ruby, and I send them to the de-facto introduction to find it is deader than Tupac Shakur.

The folks on the Rails for Zombies support page pointed me to this free online book since tryruby is down. http://pine.fm/LearnToProgram/?Chapter=00. It seems to be pretty decent so far, from the POV of a programming newb.

It is two weeks later, tryruby.org does not work again, the same HTTP 500 is displayed.
