No Intel QuickSync with Intel SR-IOV Technology as there is no real Display #1460
Comments
On Windows, Sunshine requires that a display is connected to the GPU. |
Sunshine works but only software encoding, no hardware encoding. Handbrake can use Quicksync perfectly fine in the same vm. Is this a sunshine or Intel problem? |
Handbrake isn't capturing your desktop. |
I'm also using sr-iv and I've encountered this problem. How did you solve it? |
I bought a RTX 3060, as developer mentioned above, no interest in fixing this at this point |
That's intel's issue, if you use NVIDIA's sriov vGPU, it will give you a display, then you can use sunshine with full hardware acceleration. |
Parsec can utilized UHD630 for H.264 encoding, but Sunshine failed. This is same as #1614 (comment) |

Describe the Bug
The software falls back to Software Encoding because it can't find the Quicksync Encoder.
There is no way to get a physical Display with SR-IOV splitted IGPU, so one uses the IDDsampledriver as virtual display.
There is also no way to directly passthrough the whole gpu to windows (Code 43 error and/or Blackscreen)
If you need any further information feel free to ask, I am very interessted in solving this issue as other rdp / vnc solutions are to slow for my taste for daily use.
maybe related to issue #904
But now the log states
Expected Behavior
It should use the Quicksync Encoder instead of software
