Help first time config.

Hello, I want to try this but I have one doubt, I want to create a better thermostat for my room, and I have a thermostat in that room and a radiator with a smart valve, what do I need to put in the Real Thermostat entities? Just the room thermostat? Just the room radiator valve? Both? And what about the rest of the house radiators valves?

You mean an actual thermostat in that room for your whole houses heating, or a thermometer?

Did you read the description for configuration on the better-thermostat homepage?

Let me explain better, in the main room I have a thermostat that also controls the heating for the hole house, and have in every room one thermometer and one TRV. I also have another thermostat in the house entrance but I’m using the one from this bedroom.
I read again the description for configuration but I did not fully understand it, English is not my main language, this is only for grouping TRVs on the same room? I cannot use it to avoid overshooting the pretended target temperature? Because at the moment, if I set 21°C, and the thermostat stoping at 21°C, the room is still reaching 23°C and I’m trying to optimise my heating, can I do it with this or not?

BT is supposed to improve your TRVs, by using an external temperature sensor in your room, and using that to control your TRV for reaching the room temperature more precisely. This only makes sure your radiator TRV will closely regulate the room temperature to the target (linear calibration being the simplest, reliable method, up to "AI" mode, which tries to learn being "better", but in return will also take at least a few days for properly working).

The room thermostat that would turn off/on your whole houses heating system, is an other issue. Unless you make that one smart as well, your whole heating system might go mayhem. BT turns the TRV off in your room, the house-thermostat in that room now may or may not think it's warm enough (because you probably have it set to the same target temperature, so it's a matter of sesnsor tolerance), and now for example the whole rest of your house might still try to heat up and make you reach the target temperature in your thermostats room, which it might never will, because for BT it's already warm enough and the TRV / radiator in your room is off.

So either make:

• everything smart in your house (all TRVs, and the main thermostat, so you can make an automation like "if any radiator is heating, turn on main thermostat")
• everything "dumb" (analog themostatic valves open/close slowly and gradually, which older heating systems initally were designed around)
• Make only slave-rooms smart with an electronic TRV ( + BT for better regulation), but keep the master room with the main thermostat dumb (the main thermostat needs to be able to control the heating in that room, or it will be always stuck off or on essentially)

Be aware that making just some radiators "smart", can also have a negative impact on your heating systems efficiency and wear components excessively longterm (valves frequently turning off and on all the way, can drastically increase "cycling" of your heater, if there is not a big enough buffer tank in between). So unless you understand your heating system as a whole, you might wanna consult a professional beforehand.

Let me see if my thought is correct, I need to create a BT ( Better thermostat ) for each room with the correct TRV on the Real Thermostat entity, and the respective temperature sensor. After have one for each room I need to create an automation to monitor all the BTs, and when all of them reached the desired temperature, turn off the Heater ( Boiler ) actuator. Is this correct?

My main thermostat is also smart, and I have one Shelly 1 to turn on/off the heater, so everything is 'smart' ;)
I cannot use the logic you told me above because only one of my TRVs have the off option, the other ones only have manual/auto mode.

EDIT: I think I can use, because even don't having the off the add-on manage it, and in the entity attributes I can see the hvac_action: off/idle/heating and in state off/heat so it maybe work with your logic. Confirmed it's working with your logic.

Now I just have to set the temperature and see if the results gets better in a week.
