Any tutorial for cooperation with samrtIR available?

I am quite new in HA matters.
I intend to use Better Thermostat along an AC via SmartIR.

1. Is this possible? Documentaion mentions that it can work with any climate entity.
2. Is there any tutorial for this. I cannot get it working. The integration does not find corresponding entity.
